What's happened at HRC56 so far? Together with partners, we launched a key initiative: the Declaration+25, a supplement to the UN Declaration on Human Rights Defenders, aiming to better protect defenders over the next 25 years. In this Monitor, we also cover other major updates such as calls for the UN to address alleged crimes against humanity in China; the UN High Commissioner's condemnation of the sentencing of Chinese women’s rights activists; and discussions from a high-level panel on the climate crisis.
