Launching the Declaration +25

Following a year-long period of consultations with defenders, legal analysis and a meeting of experts, we are thrilled to launch the Declaration +25, a civil society-led authoritative document endorsed by experts.

The Declaration +25 is a call to action for the protection and promotion of human rights defenders. Together with the UN Declaration on human rights defenders it forms a comprehensive set of standards and principles on defender protection grounded in international law. 

Our organisations are hosting an event on the sidelines of the 81st session of the African Commission on Human and Peoples' Rights to launch the Declaration +25 and to reaffirm the #Right2DefendRights.
