Launch of the Declaration +25
Join us as we launch the Declaration +25, a supplement to the UN Declaration on human rights defenders.
Following a year-long period of consultations with defenders, legal analysis and a meeting of experts, we are thrilled to launch the Declaration +25, a civil society-led authoritative document endorsed by experts.
The Declaration +25 is a call to action for the protection and promotion of human rights defenders. Together with the UN Declaration on human rights defenders it forms a comprehensive set of standards and principles on defender protection grounded in international law.
This in-person event will be moderated by Tess McEvoy, ISHR on behalf of a Secretariat of 18 organisations, and will include a panel of exceptional human rights defenders:
- Ana Victoria Barrientos Rodriguez, programme officer, Due Process of Law Foundation (DPLF), El Salvador
- Zulu Anyaogu, programme associate , Partnership for Justice, Nigeria
- Fatma Aziza El Mokhtar, international coordinator, UJSARIO (the Sahrawi Youth Union), Western Sahara
- Akarachai Chaimaneekarakate, Thai Lawyers for Human Rights
