Ten practical steps to advance corporate respect for human rights defenders
ISHR has developed a simple list of ten concrete actions the UN Working Group on Business and Human Rights says businesses should take to respect human rights defenders and adhere to the UN Guiding Principles.
As part of continued efforts to ensure that businesses respect human rights defenders throughout their operations, ISHR is launching today an 'explainer' to accompany the 2021 Guidance on Human Rights Defenders developed by the UN Working Group on Business and Human Rights.
This short, simple resource is intended to help human rights defenders, civil society organisations and affected communities better know and advocate for concrete steps from business actors to protect their work. It underscores the critical role human rights defenders play in securing our shared civic space - an environment in which rights are upheld, and businesses can thrive responsibly and sustainably.
