ISHR has called on the Human Rights Council President to urge 55 States to respond to communications by UN experts regarding alleged human rights violations.

In light of the failure of 42 countries to respond to letters sent by UN Special Procedures regarding alleged human rights violations, ISHR calls on States to cooperate with the independent experts and to combat reprisals.

The Government of Rwanda must ensure the participation of civil society in its continued economic development and strengthening of the rule of law, says ISHR in a statement before the Human Rights Council as part of Rwanda’s Universal Periodic Review.
