Human rights defender's story: Sophie Luo from China
'In the outside world, people see a China that is different from the real China. I think I have the responsibility to speak up and let people know the truth.'
Sophie Luo is a Chinese activist and human rights defender, and the wife of Ding Jiaxi, a prominent human rights activist and lawyer that has been detained by Chinese authorities since December 2019, including several months under ‘Residential Surveillance at a Designated Location’ (RSDL). She shares her vision of an ideal future for China, imagining “a society full of democracy, freedom, social justice and love.”
